Re: shifty trans ef2 ghia

G'day,
first port of call is battery terminals. They MUST be clean and free of corrosion, other wise your tranny computer will go haywire.

Cheers
Jas

It sounds a bit like the same problem i had with my ef. Found it to be one of the bands in the gearbox was buggered. it was exspensive to repair.... so i hope i'm wrong!

Re: shifty trans ef2 ghia

Happened in my EBII. Was a broken band in the transmission. Service guys said the bands hadn't been tightened up and thats what caused it to go. Shouldn't happen if trans was serviced recently.

My old man had a similar problem in his EF, except his just wouldn't change into overdrive. Turned out to be an electrical fault in the transmission, was a relay I think. Didn't turn out to be too expensive to repair.
