Just wanted to rant on a bit about the first mod I have done all by myself on the EL. I used to do all the mods to my EA myself but they were always half arsed, ended up half broke and well yea....u get the picture
The EL already has been modded in some way...the king lows and koni shocks (soon to be replaced with Kmac springs using same shocks) oh and the Fairlane clear indicators (ok i did that but what a simple mod)
Today i installed my first head unit Cant believe i went without one for so long. Even had to go down to work to bend up some stainless mounting brackets, modify some screws to suit, borrow some crimps to install it. Im so proud of my nothingness lol.
It is, however, a start. The finances are being planned to go a little nuts within the next few months, here is what i have come up with.
Finish stereo install, amps arrive next week (nothing huge though)
Extractors, exhaust and intake mods to the current motor.
EL XR6 Motor and 5 spd transplant
EL XR6 diff transplant, then retransplanted with 3.7 gears when the 3.45's get boring
Wade cam.
NL cuppachino interior fix...just like Walkinshaw
Front end respray, general paint fix up
I'll leave it at that for little while, will try to enjoy the sleeper look for a while
then
full XR6 body kit minus wing, simmons FR17's polished.
then once i turn 21...
Big F*** off snail. And all the associated BS.
Doing my sums sees all mods before the blower totalling around 8 grand. I was looking to sell and upgrade to a BA, but i have deemed it cheaper to mod my EL and be happy with it. maybe when i turn 21 I'll think differently but we'll see
