Ive got this wierd problem atm where my engine smells across between a Large Fart and Freshly Popped Popcorn.

its a brand new reco motor. Has the Engine builder been using my new $1000 motor to pop his popcorn

or is this normal for a new motor?

That usually means your engine is relearning at the moment and is running rich. I'm guessing power has been disconnected and ECU has lost it's memory and is now in the relearn procedure.

Wait a couple of days and it SHOULD be gone.

Might be something to do with the NOx and SOx and your cat converter? Cats are usually the culprits when it comes to the poo-poo smell...

After replacing the O2 sensor on my EF I had a weird smell for a while, but
it was just the grease that came on the thread of the new sensor.

has it got a new exhaust as well cause they stink bad other wise its the cat but you coundnt trust a 1k rebuild either

Was the ECU reset for the new motor?

If not the ECU will still think the engine is the old one, also it should be tuning it's self as you drive. Shouldn't take more than an hours worth of driving.

If your exhaust is original, then you will find your cats are dieing.
