Speedo works, odometer stopped - ideas? - Ford Forums

New prob with the EA. The odometer just stopped working, I am currently not adding to the mileage at all. Speedo still works though.

Anyone have any ideas what it could be?

it happens with the XD - XF and EA-ED model instrument clusters..

the stepping motor/cog mechanism deteiorates within the speedo assembly. Can easily be fixed at your local auto instrument repairs for around $90.

Or you can get another dash at the wreckers but they are all around this age and may end up with another dud!
