Starting problems
Hi All,
I have an EA series 2 sedan with the 4 speed auto and the centre point injection, My problem is on some occasions, when I have been driving for about a while, or at least till the motor reaches operating temp, then park turn off the motor and then come back to it about 30 minutes to an hour or so, It has real trouble starting up,
Whe I turn the key, it starts then stalls, this goes on for about 2 to 3 minutes, some times it doesnt kick for about 10 15 tries and when it finally does, I have to play with the pedal to keep it reving or it will stall, it sputers for a while then it seems to "clear its throught and every thing is ok then, it drive very well, its only in re-starting it when it is hot or warm, when it is cold like first thing in the morning, it starts perfectly.
A ford dealer told me it was the TPS, throttle positioning sensor, which I changed ( for $100.00 ) and made no differece,
Has anyone ever heard of this problem, I really dont want to take it to a FORD dealer, because of the ridiculous cost they charge.
Regards Peter
