sump gasket pull motor or drop suspension?

Just wondering if you have to pull the motor on an ed v8 to replace the sump gasket or can u just drop the suspension?thanks.

Tommo, when I put my big sump in I pulled the bolts out of the mounts and lifted the engine up. Then lowered it into blocks.
