All we got was promises APS would look into the issue but despite raising this in another thread Pete still chooses to ignore the fact no one ever rang back to address the issue.

At the end of the day tuners expect that if they install a Unichip and tune it properly their part of the process is looked after. But when other unexplainable effects on the vehicle occur they rely on tech help from the manufacturer of the product.

I personally don't hold APS highly for customer service but I know Rob better and certainly don't have any doubts Herrods bend over backwards if a customer has a problem. For that reason I'm holding back on the overall issue but remember that ultimately the manufacturer of a product holds most responsibility for the way it works, or doesn't work.

would i be right in saying that Herrods was a Unichip agent at the time you had your AU2 fitted with a Unichip & was still a Unichip agent up to & beyond the time you sold your AU2

what was the actuall problem with the car & why couldnt Rob fix it given the fact that it was installed & most likely tuned by him

regards
rod

From my memory Static radio interfefance, very common on au falcons with uni chip.We tryed everything from relocating the chip to changing radios but with no luck.uni chip is a good product and like everything else it has its problems too.

Re: Unichip after sales service

Correct. I did a lot of country driving and the unichip made the radio useless from all the interference. Disconnect the unichip and it came good. I understand the WRX has some similar issues.

Pete, I sold the car but like I said it's frustrating that as a buyer and contacting via phone the return phone calls never happened. As can be seen above Rob did a lot to try and solve the problem but there came a time when we needed APS to front up and guess what? Nothing.

I reserve my opinions now because your proactive approach via the forums is a good thing.

regards,
AP>

Peter, This radio interference issue is really weird, I've seen some Ford cars with the problem and other identical model Ford cars which don't have the problem, quite frustrating really as it appears to be a problem in certain country areas.

We have not found an ideal solution for this spasmodic problem though we have passed on lots of feedback to Dastek the manufacturer of the Unichip product for further investigation.

Thanks

Peter
