Hope someone has an idea on this .............

When I turn the parkers or headlights on in my EL XR8, there is a delay before the dash lights and tail lights come on.

The delay can be anything from 5 seconds to 1 minute and varies all the time.

Sometimes I can get the dash and tail lights to come on by using some other electrical device (eg windows, fan or sunroof) or turning the headlights on and off several times ............. but not always !!

When the dash/tail lights do eventually come on, they stay on, leading me to think that it's not a loose connection.

Any thoughts ??

This sounds like an eart issue on a relay.

Definitely a relay issue efs/els are famous for blowing right rear stop lights every 3 months + other things due to relay issues - my auto elec replaced relevant ones plus a couple more to be safe - no issues since in any way over a year ago ,cost peanuts($27 if i remember correctly)
