What did that set you back?

I'm hoping mine just needs repairs.. like.. that something is loose.. dunno though. There's -HEAPS- of free-play in the wheel that makes it pretty hairy to drive fast.. car sorta drifts left and right a bit.

Re: Whats The next mod u r planing for yr E-Series?

Free play will be related to the rack unfortunately. For a V8 it cost me......wait for it......$1300 which included brand new rack, brand new p/s pump with teflon seals, fully fitted with 3yr parts and 12months labour warranty. Now the car is tight as with no freeplay, clunking or leaks.

But for a 6 Id assume it would be cheaper, there seems to be more stuff for the 6's. V8 stuff is harder to come by and noone had change over racks for them other than the 6's.

Re: Whats The next mod u r planing for yr E-Series?

Oh shit, I hope my rack and/or pump hasn't gone :( It shudders like a bitch when I am moving slowly and turn (ie. parking).

blueoval I didn't have any tint on (unless you call the Ford tint anything?). Not sure what the Formula 1 tint is - was that top of the range? Like I said above earlier, there are three types: titanium $245, nickel $295 or some other that I didn't ask about was $365 or so.

Hope it helps :)

Re: Whats The next mod u r planing for yr E-Series?

Dont forget I have brand new stuff in my car. If your that hard up for cash, might I recommend going to a wrecker for a good 2nd hand unit. Should cost less than half I got charged. Only thing going this way is you wont really know how long it will last, and I hear its a bitch of a job(well on a 5ltr it was). Another thing is that its imperative to do a power steering flush every year I was told. So I would recommend you do a p/s flush before you fit another rack or the lifespan of the rack will be greatly reduced.

Well here in SA Formula 1 tint is regarded by Tintacar as top range. Not sure on what its made out of though.

Re: Whats The next mod u r planing for yr E-Series?

F1+ is definitely the top tint. The best price I've found is $345, and that's having 3 cars done at once. I paid $345 back in '01 for the EA...

Re: Whats The next mod u r planing for yr E-Series?

sikEA - i have given him all my specs for my car, what it is, and what mods it has, (inc cam specs) and also what is planned for it.

he will be doing a base guestimate tune in perth, and then sending it all to me.

a tweecer allows real-time tuning, so i will get a laptop (or borrow gm destroyas hehe) and then i can tune it as i drive (i mean, someone drives, someone else tunes)

have to wait till january for parts. damn.

oh yeah, the list is revised - am getting a AU motor and using bottom end and broard band manifold, and fitting my head to that, and selling off the rest, not waiting till it expires first.

Re: Whats The next mod u r planing for yr E-Series?

Rollin - the AU manifold has the MAP sensor and air charge sensor in the same place, in the manifold under the throttle body. I suggest if you're sticking with the EA wiring, get an EF or EL manifold

My mods - Meh I'm trying to save money to put a v8 in the panno :) still - wouldn't mind a 3.23 or 3.45 LSD and maybe a small supercharger....
