Early in the morning my Fairmont died and refused to start, RAC diagnosed that Crank Angle Sensor had died seeing as I was getting zero spark and injector signal.

Also suggest to replace or at least look at ignition module. For a while now the car just died regardless of temp or conditions. Console lights dimm when headlights are turned on.

Anyone have any pics of the location of the sensor, and can you replace it yourself? With the christmas break coming up, I know sparkies/mechs will be flooded with people wanted their cars checked/tuned for holidays.

Also I read somewhere the EL doesnt have coil packs, instead replaced with dizzy. Is this correct?

Any info or pics/diagrams appreciated

I am not %100 sure on this one but I think on that model it is mounted above the harmonic balancer at the top central position.

the ef has a crank angle sensor and coil pack. the el has a dizzy / coil. i just replaced my dizzy $35 fom ebay. the tfi module on side usually goes. for a bosch tfi module from repco they are about $75 or $150 for motorcraft from fords
