Re: Why you choose to get a E-Series Falcon/Fairlane?

I got an EL Fairmont because the opportunity to get finance on it came up, I just wanted to own something as new as possible, and I always liked the ELs :)

Re: Why you choose to get a E-Series Falcon/Fairlane?

I bought my Series 2 EA Fairmont Ghia Because:

The interior is very very comfortable. In the whole time ive had her ive never been uncomfortable.

They look very very very very nice low with wheels and tint...

It has been relatively reliable over the time I've had it (only bits that I've replaced were due to the old owner not knowing jack about cars)

EVERY BASTARD DRIVES A COMMODORE!!!! Every second car (P plater or otherwise) is a bloody commodore, and if I see one more VL with bloody chromies and a milo tin exhaust im gonna scream!!!

Also I fell in love with the induction noise :)

Re: Why you choose to get a E-Series Falcon/Fairlane?

I got my 30th anniversary EA falcon from my parents. But, I woulda bought an EA anyway, simply for the already stated reason that everyones got a commodore, and for some reason, I ALWAYS go for the underdog. It's upto enthusiast like us to gain respect for the E series cars... Especially the poor ol EA's :(

Oh, and naturally I fell in love with the shape of the EA-ED's. EF-EL are nice but just don't do it for me...

Re: Why you choose to get a E-Series Falcon/Fairlane?

ED XR6
i got mine cause i always loved ford falcons... but i wanted something a little bit special. ever since i seen a cop car demo at calder park with a EF xr6 against a VR SS and the xr6 won i knew i had to have one!!!
i just had to have that tickford badge on the side fender!!!
I love the looks of the EA-ED.. and espiccially love the quad headlights and subtle rear spoiler
ive dislike all the commodore p platers around my local town so i wanted somethin that would give them a hurry up
and i bought it because it was a good example of this model and it had the 5 speed to boot!!! and the momo wheel!!! so thats how i came to be with my XR

The short version is that my parents gave it to me. I've typed the extended version what seems like hundreds of times in similar threads.

Re: Why you choose to get a E-Series Falcon/Fairlane?

Having had an XR8 Sprint taken from me(long story) I had to go back into a XF wagon. The old wagon was very, very tired & the EA was offer to me by a mate. He got her to do a transplant of the engine but when I needed a car his mother convinced him to sell her to me & get another engine

I am using the EA as a stepping stone towards another Sprint. I love the ED's ....... cant beat the look of them & value for money hands down.

Re: Why you choose to get a E-Series Falcon/Fairlane?

I love fords, just love em and so my first car was always going to be one and also had to be that most aussie of cars, so a falc.

I chose my EA coz it was cheap, had done low k's, had a new head gasket and cooling system and was a Spac. I also chose the EA so that in my first few months as a P plater, if i wrote it off it was no major loss. Im now looking at gettin a EF2/EL Ghia simply coz i like luxury with grunt (XR6 Engine).

Re: Why you choose to get a E-Series Falcon/Fairlane?

EF II Ghia

1. Price and bang for your buck

2. Tickford 'enhanced' (more like encouraged) engine and suspension

3. Safety and comfort wise it is pretty good (compared to my 70s Capri)

4. I reckon the EF/EL Ghias look good stock (mine is now lowered and looks even better)

5. Modern looking and comfortable interior is very easy to live with

6. Pretty good power and LSD

7. Always wanted one ever since they came out in 94!

8. It wears the Blue Oval
