WRX front bar on EA (No i'm not kidding!!) :P

Some of you already know about this, but for those who don't...

Yes, it may sound strange, but i've been toying with the idea of fitting a WRX front bar onto an EA. Dave, John an I went to the same plastics recycler John got his front bar from (they give them away for free. They had a huge pile of bumpers and the front, so we went rumuging to see what we could find. We came across a damaged WRX front bar, and for a laugh we put it next to Dave's EA. "Holy sh!t, this might actually work!!!" So we took the bar home, and had a go at balancing it in place on my EA.

Here are two pics, one of the actuall photo, and a photochopped version of what it could look like. (just ignore the STI badges ) Note that the front bar has not been modified at all to fit the front of the EA, it is as we found it...

I am torn as to whether i should keep my car looking stock (less attention from theives, cops etc), or whether i should make a nice looking kit for it. The main reason i'm thinkin of doing this is i want to fit a cooler to my car in the near future (it will be supercharged for those who don't know) and i simply don't like the look of an EA bumper that's been hacked up to fit it, so fitting the WRX front bar will be both functional, very unique and IMO really suites the EA.

Let me know what you guys think!! I know this is prolly gunna divide the ford community in half, as some will see it as rice, while I hope others will see past it's Ricer origins

Ahh revealed at last. All I can say is that looks awesome. I can't believe the lines from 2 completely different cars match so well.

Oh and I still want your grey bumper.

OK, i whipped one up with twin lights in photoshop. Does seem VERY aggressive, but not sure whether i prefer it with or without. I added a few more pics with bonnet vents, but still undecided on whether they would add or take away from the look...

With XR lights

With XR lights and bonnet vents

With XR lights and bonnet vents further apart

No XR front but with bonnet vents

Let me know what everyone thinks!!

ok, now it actually looks ok (in the first pics w/out bonnet vents)! Just what are you gonna do to the rear bar to bring it 'up to date'?

damn, that is a big suprise, and very unique!!

i vote bonnet vents but no xr lights, also move the vents down towards the front of the bonnet if possible, then i rekon it will look pretty damn good

10 points for originalitiy!!

Yes, even were it meets the wheel arches is pretty much spt on. If you didn't know it was off another car, you would think it was actually designed for the EA :)

Re: WRX front bar on EA (No i'm not kidding!!) :P

could be the way its photo shopped but i reckon it looks good witout XR lights and vents further apart.

looks ok reaaly i thought it might look too ricey.

maybe try the vents closer to the front of the bonnet
