I'd go an x-pipe. They may sound a little different??...but they're supposed to make a little extra HP too. Can't tell exactly because I did my new system as a whole.

I have an XD 460 2.5" from headers into 3" through (Flowmaster 70 Series muffler) and 3" over diff with 3" angle cut tail pipe. I swear if you change the tail pipe to angle cut you get a better note,,use to be straight 3" pipe, sounded like drain pipe. But now it's sounds like the sweet rumble of American muscle.

Twin 2" , 1 muffler per pipe, with balance pipe, and I had mine exiting at the rear. It CAN be done, just find a good zorst fitter
