Does anyone know what is involved in changing the exhaust manifold on an '89 topaz? Does the motor need to be pulled??

I am new to the fourm, I have done it on my 90 tempo with out pulling engine. From underneth. First you must bend a boxend (i think 11/16 to fit the bolts on manifold)I also ground the top of it off so it would grab the bolts better. With the x-hast removed it should come out of there. I did it alone it takes a lot of swearing but you can do it. be carefull so you dont cut or damage the rubber boot on your axel shaft.The old one of mine came out in 3 pieces. Just take your time and you will figure it out.Did mine out in the cold norther minnesota eas like 20 above was not fun but it went.

Yes it can be done, but it is not an easy task.
