OK, I know the extractors thing is one of those ongoing topics but I've narrowed things down to either Advance, HM or High-tech headers at my local exhaust shop. All are around $360 fitted. The exhaust bloke recomends advance as he reckons they're the best fit etc - ie easier for him. I'm leading towards HM at the moment as they seem to be the more well known brand.
So - Advance or HM ?
Anyone had problems or got any gripes with either ?
I'd rather more bottom end power if one offers that over the other.
Thanks
PS: Yes I've searched the forums - most topics seems to be a little circular though...
I have put Advance headers on both my old XF and my brothers EF I6 Falcon. They seem to be good quality and easy to fit. I have heard a couple of people unhappy with the HM ones, but I can't remember why.
I am running advanced headers on my 6 cyl. AU and am very happy with them!
My mate owns an exhaust company in adelaide, and has done alot of dyno runs with different brands, and he has found advanced to be the best he has tested (overall). He also sells other brands, but strongly recommends advanced.
Basically i am really happy with them, and picked them because my mate recommend them and he wasnt out to make money on the sale, and I have seen his dyno runs. Also they are very easy to fit!! (if he is charging much for labour, do it yourself, its just about 12 bolts! (I did mine, as I was helping my mate to do my system)
i have hm headers full stainless system on my xr8.the difference in power was fairly noticable but fitment was tight.wasn't cheap tho
