confused after cat O2's

I'm helping a friend fix her '96 sho. It had a bad #6 coil and of course she drove it like that for a while and the unburnt fuel wrecked the cat (hopefully not the cylinder also). She already punched out the rear cat and I want to just replace all that crap with some nice smooth pipes since there are no emissions inspections on vehicles here in Michigan.
The question I have is whether these things work:
02 Simulator - CEL / MIL Fix - O2 Sensor Simulator
I can easily space the rear O2's away from the exhaust stream if this does the trick.

Sorry if this has been covered, I tried to search several ways for this.

thanks

Re: after cat O2's

It looks like it would work, however it seems to be designed for custom exhaust app's where chips or other horsepower goodies create bad signals. That SHO was designed to run well from the factory. It doesnt appear to be used for any sort of racing, so my thoughts would be to keep it original. Replace the cat's and keep the car in stock form. You will gain no noticeable power by eliminating them and by adding aftermarket bandaids you may be adding more or bigger problems down the road. The new convertors dont bother cars like the old ones did. Like I said, it would probably work, but that car runs good in stock form.

It does seem like it would work but like that guy said is that car used for any racing anyway?? why waste 20 bucks on something u don't need.
