I finally got off my arse and booked in a new Lukey 2.5" cat-back mandrel bent system with one straight through muffler. I just need some help regarding the muffler. When I was confirming everything - the guy said the muffler was "Walker" and is apparently Lukey's brand. Can someone confirm this?? I hope he isn't taking the piss out of me.
I think it might be too loud but we can only wait and see :s6: If it's too loud, what are my options and is it likely to drone at highway speeds?
What do hotdogs do (and I'm not referring to the edible ones!)?
I know someone will ask, it's costing me $290 fitted. I can't wait!!!

well my box says lukey....but i have seen boxes with walker on em...
as for drone,my el has 2 1/2 inch lukey with one muffler,hi flo cat, and it has no drone at all,not stupidly loud, but my god does it sound chunky..
like clocks?whack 2 hands and a face on this.....
Lukey 2.5inch catback here... just a single "turbo" muffler (almost a straight thru but has slight dogleg) and it's not overly loud at all. Maybe if you had extractors that would affect volume levels though? It drones a just little bit....but it's nowhere near as bad as those 4-cylinder's with their "cannon" muffler thingies.
Oh...and correct me someone if i'm wrong, but hotdogs are mufflers that are really small in size. They're straight through like yours, but they look like the 2.5" gets about 2" fatter at the point where there is a muffler. They're usually 12" or 24" long, and generally alot of cars will run more than one as they don't muffle the sound all that much.
i just got a Lukey 2.5 cat back system put on today, Mandrel bent, 1 straight through muffler and one rear straight through resonator to cut droning and give a better note along with some extractors. it is not overly loud (but still a fair bit louder than stock) at the moment but the exhaust guy said give it a week or two and it will get louder. it does sound very meaty and has definetly helped improve the top end power (could be from extractors too) i asked him about a hotdog and he said they are basicly resonators. where did you get your quote? i got quoted $330 for my system fitted + 130 odd to fit extractors, modify cat, weld exhaust tip and for bolts/gaskets.
