au xr6 exhaust

Are all au XR6 hp exhaust same as standard Au's or just early one as this would not do much for the tickford engine performance wise ,will probally go for 2.5" replacement all the way

Thanks

Yes they are. All series AU XR6HP exhausts are the same as the Forte.

If you are going to replace the exhaust I would suggest going with 2.25" or 2.5"

However, check with your insurance company first as they might not like the idea of a larger one.

I know I had trouble with mine. Their policy was that the new exhaust couldn't be 2.5" bigger than the original. I had to get it through to them that since the new exhaust is 2.5" it's physically impossible to be 2.5" bigger than the original!

My parents just opted for the standard size system, but its crazy

ford would do this on an xr6 why wouldnt you try to increase hp

with a larger system from factory, unless they were getting far to

much quicker that the VCT to justify the money for one.Any way

the car had a BAD IDLE before the new exhaust was fitted so

what ever it was, its like brand new again, probly disconnected

the battery ,or it could have been presure inbalance in the

exhaust.

FOR ALL AU XR6 ENGINED CARS WITH BAD IDLE CHECK EXHAUST

SYSTEM

Yeah you are spot on, the only reason the HP has the standard exhaust is to slow it down against the VCT. It's basically the exhaust that gives the VCT the extra kW.

As it is, the HP is actually quicker than the VCT in a straight line as the independent suspension of the VCT adds weight.

My XR6 never liked starting first go in the morning, the Herrods exhaust fixed that and gave me an extra 20kW at the wheels.

Yes, NRMA are a bit more mod friendly than other insurance companies, but not everybody is insured with them.

Well actually, the exhuast on the XR6HP is wherer the horsepower is made.... Not much else is changed, so no, if you check your facts, the exhuast is not the same as the forte.........

Check a tech list if you have one (like what was on the older website) and you will see......

I'm 95% sure of this.....

The only difference is the XR6HP gets a chrome tip.

The AU S pack has the same exhaust as well and it gets the chrome tip on the AUII.

The tech list in the brochure only states that the XR6 VCT and XR8 get a "Sports Performance Exhaust"

The standard AU puts out 157Kw, the XR6 HP is 164Kw, the VCT is 172KW. The differences - better exhaust on HP, and VCT on the VCT!
