BA XR8 Exhaust..... ?

G'day,

I get my new XR8 Ute at the end of next month. I have been reading around on the forums & haven't really found too much on a exhaust setup for the BA XR8. There are a few threads, but I thought I might start this one & see what performance people have really achieved! The other thing I’m looking at is the 'NOTE'. I guess to start with, I’m really after a mean sounding v8 note! What would be the best option for this? & what setup does the XR8 have standard?

Cheers

Memphis

ps.
A few sites I have found selling XR8 Exhaust's;

2 & 1/4" twin in twin out muffler before the diff and a twin in twin out at the rear. The pipe size is up and down like a yoyo, I think going up to 2 & 1/2". They are narrowest in and out of mufflers and I think also at the flanges, and they narrow at the tip with the perforated inner.

Has any one around Adelaide fitted or know someone who has fitted a CAPA or D&T system I would love to get in contact. I had a single 3" fitted recently and although it has some good points, I miss the throaty V8 throb.
Has anybody looked at replacing the standard centre muffler with either two resonators or a custom built muffler, and leaving the twin straight through box on the rear, and maybe modifying(removing) the perforated bit in the tip. After all, Ford has done all the hard work getting over the diff. Is a twin 2&1/4" system all that shabby. It actually gives a larger pipe cross section of 8 square inches, as opposed to a single 3" system of 7 square inches.
Ive read all the FF posts on exhaust systems,and for as many who think one way, there are as many who think the other. Even what Ive read on dyno figures from shootouts doest point in one direction. If we're only talking a few kW's here and there, it wouldn't worry me too much to get a decent "I'm a V8" note.
