Wondering if anyone can offer any info on the BA XR8 exhaust. I've just had the back end of mine cut off and had a quad pipe system put in - removed rear muffler and two reso's put in. Problem is:
DRONE!!!! Between 1,250 & 2,250 rpm it is absolutely shocking. Car is an auto. I expected some drone - as you would when modding the zorst...

The drone was worse before the system was rehung - no hard mounting nor rubbing anywhere.

I have heard that due to the loss in volume from the original muffler, the 'buzz' or drone is considerable more prominant until the volume is restored. Is this correct? Or, if the volume is restored, then do you lose the new found grunt and noise!?!??!

Help - getting shitty with it!

My system is a twin 2.25 inch with 1 short muffler on each pipe at the rear of the system. I get no drone what's so ever and the note is absolutely f/n awesome

. My car is also a BA XR 8 but is a Ute.

You might want to go a smaller pipes or relocate the mufflers. The second of the 2 would be the cheaper and possibility better for performance.
other then that there's not a real lot you can do. I would also get another exhaust fitter to rectify the problem as the one you went to should know that what he was doing would cause droning and advise you of it and what to do about it.

Toss the lot bro and spend some cash and get the Herrod quad system it works

Herrod Quad systems and all there sytems work well and with no droning.. i think it might be because there tips on all there exhaust systems have baffels in the end of them.
Also they test there exhaust's for power, not just adding peices on for looks...
