Best Exhaust for my EF Futura - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Hey everyone i recently brought a 96 EF series 2 Futura and just wanted to know what type of exhaust is best for my car. For eg. Lukey, Redback thats all i know but dont know whats best. While im here what Sort of extractors aswell and the rough price for them.

Hey, this has been asked a lot before, so have a bit of a hunt through the forums as well. Just to give you an idea though, they're all pretty well the same. You may get a bit of difference in the extractors, but essentially all exhausts are effectively just a pipe.

If I were you I would look into Pacemaker extractors, and a HM Headers exhaust - Ive got one (but no extractors), and it does make a little difference in fuel econ, and the note is great - not all out noise, but a good burble at idle, and a nice growl when you're giving it a little.

My EA has Pacemakers into a 2 1/2in Redback, best note combo iv'e heard so far!! nice bark in the tromp zone, not a loud exhaust if that's what you want tho, no DRONE . good on power gain too, old man has a LUkey set-up, too hissy sounding and less aggressive, id say go Pacemakers to Redback ..i will on my EF. rrp Redback $300 & P'maker $ $400 .. Otherwise Jim Mock are the quality headers, but $$$ are a tad more.
Genie, has a bad rep, for some reason, HM headers seem to go down well, anybody else

dude go genie or wildcat extractors. I have been told my many exhaust places now that genies give the best flow (better flow then pacemakers) the same dude who owns genie owns wildcat and there for those 2 are pretty much exactly the same except wildcat are cheaper. So thats y im fitting wildcat extractors on my au falcon and thats also y i had them on my old fairlane 4lt. For the exhaust well i would recomend lukey they have been around for ages and well they wouldnt have been around for this long if their product wasnt any good now would they?????
oh and also price wise i had wildcat extractors and a 2.5inch lukey exhaust(including a high flow muffler) fitted for 500 bucks by a place down here in brisbane called rob bliss exhausts.

So what does lukey sound like? My ford now sounds pretty strong with a nice sort of growl and a kinda hiss which i really like. But i would like it to sound similar to an 8 and the hiss is pretty cool too. I dont want anything really loud is just souds gay, also that sort of tin sound, or the sound like its about to fall apart lol i hear a fair few exhaust like this. Can you just give me some ideas of what the exhausts sound like.

on my old six pre cross flow i had gennie extractors into a 2 1/4 reversed lukey it was quite often mistaken for a v8 although it did have (kringes) 308 valves in it. try turning mufler around its amazing what the sound differance can be
