Just wondering what the best choice of headers and exhaust system would be best suited to a manual EL XR8 with Trickflow manifold and heads. I was thinking Difilippo headers with a twin 2.5 inch stainless system. Any comments?

Difilippo make nice headers, but if you want something a bit cheaper go for the Pacemaker's. With your power I would be looking at the competition series with 1 3/4 primaries (I think). For the rest of the exhaust either twin 2 1/2" or single 3" should be fine, just make sure you find a good exhaust shop to make it up.

There is also the Herrod Motorsport exhausts and extractors which are good quality and already made ready to fit, but come with the normal high price tag you would expect with Herrods, but you do get what you pay for and they have done a lot of research into those systems.

I have hm headers stainless extractors & 2.5'' system on my car.Dont now how much power it gave me but it was quite noticable.Doesnt have the best note but.I think the part # is 1031st

Admittedly it was a few years ago now, but I got my system for $1400 fitted. This included stainless Genie 1 3/4" headers, stainless dual 2.5" system (back to 2.25" after the mufflers to get over the axle), a pair of Lukey mufflers, and tips! Was a custom job done at Carline Granville back in about 1999 or so (very very hazy memory)

Would cost more than that now I'd reckon, going on current prices of gear..

I priced the system aussie pete had on his stroker from the bloke who did his and cat back i think it was roughly $1800.Full stainless twin system with magnaflow mufflers.Also i think one of the mufflers was custom made.
