Hi guys, Ive still had no joy with the exhaust shops in Scotland with regards to making up a system for the 95 EF XR6 I have here.
They are only willing to make a stainless system, and this will be costing me �450 (approx AUD $1050.00) to make a 2.5 inch stainless system only from the cat back, and as the lads dont know the car, they dont have any idea of what mufflers will work suitably, and this is only migged, not even a tig weld!
I am wondering if there are any companies who can make pre fabbed (either bolt on or weld together) (stainless or mild steel) componants, in a performance style exhaust for the EF XR6 sedan. If so i may be able to get it sent over and for less.
The factory set up has 4 cans on it! I am hoping to get a decent growl and a bit more pep outa it with a free-er flow performance exhaust system, plus the orignal is on its last legs!

Any help would be appreciated,

Thats an EB GT body kit with out the scoops and flares
You could probally get a EL GT body kit (small change from ef) for your car if you wanted to. Or a factory EL XR8 kit they looked a bit better.

UKXR6, Lukey are pretty good for bolt on systems! Plus they are pretty cheap too. I am getting a Lukey cat-back 2.5inch m/bent system fitted to my EL on Friday. This system has a big 'Turbo' muffler in the middle and a resonator at the back to stop droan. I am paying $250 fitted, so the system itself should be about $200. For a bolt on system I think that this is what most people go for and Lukey is not too bad!

Just a matter of how much shipping will cost you?!?!?!

Sounds like the bees knees to me XtRmn8. Cheers for the price, I am awaiting an email back from them so at least I now have an idea of a figure. That is pretty much what I wanted was just cat back, might even be able to show the Scotsman what the Famous Lukey Growl sounds like if it all goes ahead.
As far a shipping costs, I will go and get some highland whiskey doon me right away and stay that way till the email arrives, this way it may soften the blow!

Anyhow, I will let you know the outcome.

G'day UKXR6, good to hear there is another XR6 owner cruising around Scotland.. I think I saw yours getting some tyres put on the other day when I was down in Edinburgh. I got a red EF XR6 and a AU2 XR6 VCT myself.I'm trying to get my hands on an exhaust for my AU, have emailed lukey as well to see what they come back with.

That was me getting the new rubber.... I got some Pirelli 235`s fitted to the beast, gotta help the traction coming into winter!
I have looked into 3 exhaust companies here now and they range from not too bad through to downright expensive! I am going to organise a Lukey cat back bolt on system from Australia to be sent to me from a retailer there, as Lukey do not actually send stuff directly out to customers. The prices seem good but the systems will need a good coating of something to combat the salt and grit. Stainless is great, but will outlast the car as far as i am concerned.
If you are interested then we can get something organised for two systems to be sent over? .. just a thought, but great to hear of you UKfalcon_owner ...

A fellow Kiwi, how cool is that!Sounds like a plan, how much did they charge you for the cat back and postage? My EF came with a nice sounding system on it that had been chucked together by some local exhaust shop down south somewhere for �150 a few years ago and is still going strong. Annoyingly I don't have the details of where it was
