Just wondering if it is worth putting a dual exhaust setup on a AU XR6. I have a Cam, Extractors & Induction all ready with a 2.5inch Single Mandrell bent system on ther at the moment. Would i gain any power from the dual, or would it be a waste of cash? Also would the dual put out a better sound/note?
The XR6 VCT come standard with a dual exhaust from the cat to just passed the diff. I know when I went back to a single 2.5" system, I lost power at the top end, but picked up some low-down torque. So...It depends what you want - outright power, or useable torque. I'd stick with the single 2.5".

On the HAD engines, the reason Ford probably used dual exhausts was to make more muffler capacity available. It allowed the fitment of two mufflers and therefore provided better sound reductions than one muffler (the single muffler size being limited by the area under the floor).
If noise isn't an issue (and we know how quiet the factory cars are) a single should do the trick.
Now, for V8s the story would of course change.
