EA true dual exhaust

Yep thats the plan.

Any tried/seen anythin like it? Im talkin bout a true dual system that separates from a larger pipe before the diff and ends with 2 pipes exiting on either side.

After trying to dummyfit a cannon muffler under there today (dont worry, just havin a look see what it looks like) the conclusion is theres barely any room back there!
Im gonna have to remove the fuel tank (not a prob, its gonna be running straite gas) and possibly knock out the spare wheel well.

Or i can just fit two pipes pointing down just after the wheels, to get some decent smoke dispersion...hehe

Wat u guys rekon. opinions, experiences & thoughts welcome.

PS: If quad tips are good enough for an M3 then its good enough for humble me. And no its not gona be N/A

Re: EA true dual exhaust

with the fuel tank gone most exhuast joints can work something out with a dual setup

i saw some dual setup on an EF with a fual tank in the way looked grouse but its a dodgy setup as one of the pipes for the left side runs under bumper (but hidden) and dux down there 2" pipes 2 of them coming from a 3" tailpipe were theres been a double adapter type join very class stuff looks crazy

Re: EA true dual exhaust

Yeah sounds good, your range on straight gass wont be much.
Are you looking at making your boot bigger, or putting in a second gas tank under the floor?
Twin exit exausts will look sweet.
I did it with our Magna, looks great.

Re: EA true dual exhaust

Straight LPG range won't be bad..
Depends on the tank.
I'm more interested in seeing what u do about engeneering the removal of the spare wheel well.
i'd LOVE to get my spare wheel well removed completely, boot floor raised about 100mm and a couple of 280mm diamtre LPG scuba tanks mounted under there, but i don't think the price for that kinda thing would be too inviting :)

Re: EA true dual exhaust

Yeah thats the type of tanks im talking about John.
Its not a huge job to do the wheel well, but it could need to be engineered.

Re: EA true dual exhaust

The petrol tank will have to go as you said, but the spare wheel well has enough space next to it doesn't it? If you keep it then you can run one of those donut LPG tanks in the spare wheel well, just enough to give you a little bit in reserve (on top of the standard tank) coz with the turbo you're gonna need it.

Re: EA true dual exhaust

That was exactly my plan.
Due to the costs in modifying the boot floor being too much for my likeing, i was gunna get a donut tank (still pricey) but then there is the issue of no spare wheel.
still.. ~50 usable litres of LPG + the standard 65ish usable would make for some decent milage.

And a nice blank space where the fuel tank *used* to be

Re: EA true dual exhaust

For dual exhaust to work, and ive seen a EA with it before, it must have the Petrol tank removed like people have said and with a 80ltr tank you get enough k's out of it. Its only if u have a little 60ltr (u only get 80% of that in the tank) you dont get many.

Re: EA true dual exhaust

Fuel economys got no hope either way with my driving lol. Thats why im goin gas, so i dont feel as bad putting 20bux in every second day.

Also, im assuming (i know you shouldnt) that if i ever bothered to get the car engineered then the cost would be the similar if i removed the wheel-well compared to if i didnt
