Im currently looking around for an exhaust system for my EL Ghia. These are the two quotes i have, and their both basically at the same price im just unsure of which one to get. I want something that sounds nice, its only a I6, but i want a little grunt and no drone coz i do alot of highway kays.

System one:
Stainless Steel 6Y Lukey extractors
2.5" highflow cat
inter lukey mufler
rear tailpipe
or
Stainless Steel 6Y Lukey extractors
2.5" highflow cat
inter lukey mufler
rear lukey mufler

System two
HPC 3Y Pacemaker Extractors
2.5" highflow cat
one rear redback mufler

which system should i choose? or a niether anygood?

Lukey would give better sound, and pacemakers will give you better performance IMO.

I reckon system one.

i put a lukey system from the cat back and the engine note is awesome, and no drone!! this is with one muffler too i've saved at least 50km a week on fuel and there is a small amount of power gain prolly 3 kw or something but it was enough to make me notice as hill climbs don't die in 5th gear anymore......

Im telling you this from personal experience mate do it this way you wont be dissapointed.

Pacemaker extractors (if you can afford em)
if not go lukey

Then go into a high flo cat

then run single 2 1/2" pipe mild steel will be fine

and right up the back run one single luke race magnum muffler

Street legal sound
Awesome note just awesome
And you will get a good gain out of it

save on fuel as well

i got a 2.5 reback from the cat back and it dosnt drone... still got a good note from it though

thanx for the comments people. If anyone has anymore advice, id be too glad to hear it. i was considering a herrods exhaust but the $1500 is a little more than i wanted to spend

sylox: How much did this set up cost you? was it the normal pacemakers or the race series or wat ever their called

Yeah didn't cost that much mate

I think your up for about $170 for the rear muffler
(LUKEY RACE MAGNUM) <--- The best floing one they make.Best sounding 2
Probally about $400- $500 for the extractors and a bit for the pipe work & labour. You should be able to talk the guy down to about the high 900 early 1000 mark.

You wont regret it the combination of the paceyz and the race magnum is so good.

JUST A THOUGHT

HIGH FLO CATS <-- Waste of money
If you can find a work shop to do it. Get them to gut the cats and weld them back over the pipe (illegal)
This will give you a supprising amount of power.
for example with a high flo cat on one of my old cats I gained 2rwkw by gutting it and welding it back over the pipe I gained an additional 5rwkw. (I HAVE DYNO SHEETS TO PROVE IT)
