Im getting a Red Back 2.5 inch for my Ea 4speed Auto, which runs on Gas as well as Fuel.

The car has no other mods engine standard 3.9 litre 6 cyclinders etc, CFI (bummer)

How will it sound??? Loud? Will the Gas make a difference in sound?

How will it sound and smell on Gas without the Cat Converter? Would a car on my tail smell it heaps???

Gas should not smell at all, most smells are from the cat when using fuel high in sulphur, I don't think LPG has much sulphur, and seeing you haven't got a cat, won't make any difference.

Sound? Wait and see.

if you can still run petrol then you have to keep the cat, if you choose to run LPG only (and remove the petrol system altogather) then you dont need the cat.

cant help with advice on sound or anything though.

Why dont u need a CAT while using a Gas System? im sure its a simple reason but i dont know?

So it's legal to have no CAT on Gas.

But petrol requires a CAT unless your naughty????

Gas is considered much much cleaner then petrol which is probably why you don't need a cat.

Also you can stick massive turbo's and things like that on gas EA's or whatever and not have to worry about emissions.

Shouldn't make much difference, the sound is in the pipes, the combustion process in the engine is the same. I've got a duel fuel V8 and I can't tell the difference when running on gas or petrol.

Do u know of any EA with 2.5....do they sound alright.

Mine's stock standard, haven't got the cash for anything else.

Don't know of any EA's with 2.5, someone else might though.

My next car is going to be a dedicated LPG system.

yeah 2.5 is the way to go, there are a heap of people up here with them (and i will be one by wednesday arvo!!!!) but if you have an auto you will probably need an extra muffler or a resonator because autos tend to drone with aftermarket exhausts.

good one TopGiha, straight LPG is the best way to go!!!!! peice of p*ss to turbo a straight LPG car....
