exhaust and cams.

are there any companies that make off the shelf extractors for mk6 fiesta. im thinking 2 inch exhaust system. cuz any bigger than that on a small engine just sounds rat and too loud.
is it possible to get mild cam work done to standard cams for better performance??? can it be done reliably and using standard computer or does it require it to be upgraded.
also what has to be done to give the aussie spec fiesta the same power as say the german fiesta which i believe comes out with close to 90 kw instead of 74kw in aus...

Re: exhaust and cams.

For a whole exhuast system you are looking at $1600. There is NO 90KW fiesta, Australia got the most powerful engines while europe only gets them as options.

Re: exhaust and cams.

Well how come the ford website says aussie version has 74 kw. and in my manual it says 85kw and 10nm more. the manual must be for the german spec fiesta or something.. im really confused on the issue.
What about mild cam work ?? :D with a little work fiestas would hammer

Re: exhaust and cams.

I repeat there is NO special german spec fiesta. The values in the SERVICE manual are for just the engine while the values in the manual are ATW values(95% sure on this). If you read the owners manual it is also stated that the car has 74KW and 146NM.

Cam work would be a custom job.

Re: exhaust and cams.

There's not much point in trying to do much to a Fiesta atm simply due to the fact that it's such a new model. There's absolutely nothing for it. Even wheels are hard to come by. And like with any car, if you want it to hammer, forced induction is the only way. Unless we're talking about big cubes, but I don't think you can fit a 351 in a Fiesta! hehehe

Re: exhaust and cams.

You don't need to super-turbocharger(the correct name) or turbocharge to get high power. eg A WRC gets 300HP and 500NM from a 2L turbo engine while JWRC gets 250Hp and 300Nm from a 1.6L NA engine.

If you want high power NA, you need quad throttle bodies, new intake, net exhaust, new cams, head work etc. All this would add up to be about the same as getting a turbo.

Re: exhaust and cams.

Super-turbocharge? Maybe I'm ignorant, but what the heck's a super-turbocharger? I know of cars which are both supercharged AND turbocharged, but I've never heard of super-turbochargers.

As for high power NA, hardly seems worthwhile. That's a lot of work, and it'd either have to be shipped from overseas or custom made.

Re: exhaust and cams.

Super-Turbochager is the correct name for a Supercharger.

in no way is super-turbocharge the correct name

Superchargers were invented BEFORE turbochargers. meaning the correct name for a supercharger is infact - SUPERCHARGER

did u think of it urself? or whoever told u that is well...its bs

and a WRC car produces only 300HP because they have a restriction on power otherwise they would have in excess of 500HP quite easily.
