Hi guys the gasket that is in between where the Cat and extractors join has blown twice now. The first time it blew becuase of clogged Cat. I now have a new cat and got the gasket replaced but it blew this one out also. Its a 2.5 inch system joined to pacemaker extractors car is on gas but i got it checked out and its not running lean. I know it will run hotter on gas. What should i use. They used some sort of clear silicon but im starting to think maybe use that copper gasket goo with the next gasket anyone else have any ideas what i should try.

I have never had a problem with gaskets on any part of the exhaust and all of my gaskets went in dry with no sealent at all.I would be checking the surfaces to make sure they are flat and line up properly and check the bolts are tight and maybe re-tighten after a couple of days.Can not understand how you have a problem.My AU has clocked 300,000ks with extractors,no problem.

Yep I'd run a straight edge over the mating surfaces as well...

i use locktite exhaust sealant and have never had a problem.
although the "U" bolt flange where it meets b4 the diff, has a small leak.

It sounds like the cat might be on a slight angle= blown gasket. If so id go back to the place that did the system and complain.

Other than that maybe try a change in gasket brands

Try runing a flat file over contact area where gasget goes to make flat surface area..
A steel or metal gasget[crushable] may be better too...
