Hey all,

I'm back again after some time. Did some work to my EA even though its still running like a snail.
However yesterday I got a high flow cat and lukey extractors installed and it sounds better now but I was wondering if theres anything I can do to give my car a much deeper and louder more V8 sounding note.

The mechanic said thats about all you can do to your exhaust system but I'm not really happy there must be something else you can do.
Anybody got any ideas on what I could do?
At the moment it sounds more like a fart can than a big 6 engine.

Install a 351 Clevo, that'll give you a V8 sound

Hmm yeah I was considering switching the 3.9 cfi for a V8.
Would you know the costs involved in doing so?
Where can you buy motors off the net? I wonder how much trouble it would be to get a base LS1 put in.
Any info is appreciated.

LOL an LS1 in an EA! That'd get some quick 1/4 mile times hehe...

Maybe it's the whole CFI thing that is restricting things, convert - more power and better fuel economy, even if you don't get a better note. And what exhaust is it? Size?

you could invest in a cam.. they tend to change the exhaust note a bit lumpier/deeper/louder.

hehe well I figured the LS1 would be the cheapest option for real performance.
I doubt the Boss would fit in plus it would be costly same for the XR6T.

I'm not sure on the exhaust size but it looks standard. Nothing huge.
Hmm what about a cam? Are you referring to the cam shaft or something?
How much are those and what do they do?

yes camshaft. theres many different options to improve perforance.. but if your car is cfi i would convert it to mpfi first. after that you could get a nice cam... lots of different options wade cams, jim mock motorsport, crow cams, etc. fair few different companys make them. they give you more power and tend to change exhaust note. depending on how big the cam is you made need extra things... like heavy duty valve springs, or headwork to get the full potential out of it, maybe a chip if its a really large cam.

Hey I found out the exhaust size on my car too, its a 2.5 inch.

The noise level is just to dull and quiet. Plus all these exhaust mods still hasnt given me any more power it doesnt feel any more powerful anyway.

I know what u mean mine was a kitten before i started to spend money on it.
I had a Lukey Turbo Muffler put in for extra growl.
With pod filter and extractors, i often get mistaken for a V8.
(from ppl who don't know what a big I6 sounds like)
It's not terribly loud which is good for long drives too.
