Well some of you guys would know I finally got an exhaust put on yesterday for the XR6.
Incidently i must say the service at Carline Mufflers in Emu Plains are A1, i'd highly reccomend it to anyone around the Penrith and Blue mountains area. They go that extra mile.
I had to take it back in the afternoon as i found my first setup with a hotdog rear muffler was in my opinion excessively loud for both high way driving and around town. On the front half of the muffler assy i have a hotdog resonator and a muffler. So essentially i have a 3 muffler setup. I found the first setup particularly annoying when taking off hard you can hear the sound resonate in the boot area.
A mate of mine at uni said the setup i had sounded awesome, and the exhaust guy said it sounded like a V8, which is not a good thing as it's not a V8. I hate people who try to make 6's sound like a 8.
Anyways i got it changed now with a full muffler on the back and it's much better though theres still a deep note.
It bewilders me how people can drive with excessively noisy exhausts to the point when they rev it they don't hear the engine but hear the exhaust. :dead: :dead: Either that or i must be getting old. :oo1: :oo1:

Hey Guys
Theres loud, with a nice not, which is ok.
But if its loud & drones(which is normally at 60/80/110), them it needs work.
Ive just had mine done, its got new cat, straight through muffler & a resonator on the rear, all 2.5". It is also Mandrell bent, goes better with good fuel economy.
Compared with my old system, its a little bit Quieter, but the note is awsome. The old system only had a 3" cat & a genie muffler.
the old one was press bent.

Nice rich note is one thing - endless resonating in the rear of the car is NOT nice. Headache material IMO.
