Exhaust Sensor

Hey guys.

Can anyone give me any info on how to test an exhaust sensor, or even symptoms to look out for if the sensor is buggered.

My car still has the factory one installed, and although I'm not having any problems.. I just want to make sure im not missing anything.

Also, I'm assuming EA-AU are interchangeable?

Thanks guys.

Simon.

Re: Exhaust Sensor

ford recommend renewing the sensor every 80,000kms so if it has done more than that then there is a chance it isnt 100%. u cant test an O2 sensor on the bench and it has to be done in situ and operating. have a look in a gregory's manual and it will give you directions to test everything.

as for being interchangable - that all depends on the number of wires it has. even ea's ran 2,3 and 4 wire O2 sensors.

a trick i've gotten away with before with dicky O2 sensors is to soak them overnight in carby clean and make sure the thread is clean
