I am looking for some advice, for a exhaust system for a 2001 XR8

There are lots of opinions around. The best for power on a standard to mild v8 setup is a single 2 1/2 inch system. This has been proven by many exhaust shops including Herrod Automotive. A couple of us have just fitted the new lukey 3" single system. They are cheap and sound very nice, but we are waiting on some dyno sheets to see if there is any low down torque loss.

Thank you for your reply EDXR8, do you know who in Sydney I could see re the exhaust system. I am also considering installing a unichip, or equivalent. What are your thoughts?

And regarding the unichip, I am not a great believer, but many swear by them. IMO, you don't really need a unichip until you have done some major mods which your computer cannot handle. My friends XR8 runs 198rwkw without any computer mods or any running problems. This being said, I would think that the unichip will free up some power in nearly all engines, but at over $1000 it is not cheap.
