Congrats on your newly aquired vehicle! I'm sure you will enjoy it alot!
About the exhaust system. I have a Pacesetter myself, and believe me, with the V6 you DO get a LOW rumble (when the rpms are low), but it also screams loudly under WOT. It does not sound like a bumblebee or anything like that.
Most 1st genners will agree that the Pacesetter is the most cost effective/performance way to go. #1 the pipes are mandrel bent, not many exhaust shops can or will do that without charging you more than the pacesetter. #2 - If you don't like the muffler, many have opted to remove the muffler and get another one. If you like the Borla, you can go with a universal, make sure it's 2.5" input to bolt up to the pacesetter.....
Some people feel that the Pacesetter rusts too quick since it's not stainless steel.......... if you live in salty areas that may be the case. It is thicker than the OEM exhaust, and it will last a long time if you paint it with some rust proof, high temp paint before installation. I have not painted mine, and I've had it for about 3 years now, and the only rust that I've got is on the tips, and it's slight I can clean that off with some chrome cleaner. I am fortunate that my state does not use salt on the roads so that has helped the life of it.
Basically, you won't find an exhaust any cheaper anywhere else. Also, I don't think anyone else makes a cat-back for our car. HKS has one, but it's VERY expensive, and for the price you pay it should be stainless, but it is not.
Hope that helps you out some, anymore questions just ask..
