Go to any reputable exhaust center and have them fit a Genie extractor and 2inch S/S exhaust. The car will be remarkably different and have a note to it. I know, I have fitted one to mine. An extra 10kw rear wheel!!!
Herrods have a range of systems to suit your car and budget. I just fitted their premium 2.5" system on my AUII XR6. Not only does it now have a nice deep throaty sound, it has increased power as well. The missus was telling me the other day how floored it next to the HSV club meeting and they all stopped to look.
These systems are designed for the car, not off the shelf like others.
Take a look at the mod page of my website below

I've fitted Hurricane (not mandrel bend) on my efxr6 with a 2 1/2 inch system, also moved cat back beside tranny and fitted k&n filter. Very throaty sound and plenty of power. Kids complain that it is toooo loud in the back...... Can't please everyone!!!!
This car had a Genie set on when I bought it and there was a very noticeable increase in noise and power when I changed extractors.
Unfortunatel the Dyno Figures at JMM leave alot to be questioned, however, what type of note have you found and have you noticed a better response range?
Just had the SVO exhaust upgrade fitted to my EL XR6 and it works realy well call Mick at SVO Ringwood Melb he is easy to talk to and has heaps of experience with fords. As you can tell i was verry happy with the performance and cost of the system.
