Exhaust on XR6 - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Hi All,
just a quick question, we recently bought a 2001 AU2 XR 6 VCT, and was wondering if any of you guys know what the deal is with the "Twin" exhaust system it has on it,its got 2 mufflers at the back(1 each side) then the tail pipes join at the back just past the diff but on top of each other,one pipe then exits normally thru the bottom of the bumper while the other one bends up behind the bumper,and if you dont get down and a look you`d never know it was there.
any help is most greatful

I just bought an AU3 VCT... I'll have to go have a good look under the back of my car to check that out as well. I heard they had a twin system but I never understood the single visible exhaust pipe!

Try a search in the inline 6 section.

There was a discussion on the second pipe just kind of ending but not doing anything. People were unblocking it or something in the hope of getting more power out of the car. I think it was said that this doesn't give you any gains and was more likely to take away performance.

Try messaging "casper" on the forums. He owns a VCT xr6. That or see if one of the service guys at ford can help.

Oh yeah definitly, but the amazing thing is even though it's superceeded they still look great and does standout amongst the normal cars on the road.
Good to have another Venom Red AU XR driver around.
