I have a stock AU 5.0L and want to go twin... can anyone recommend a good exhaust place in Brisbane that really knows what they're doing enough to give me what I want (not what they want to sell), can get it right and all at a good price?

i have heard that rob blis is quite good, but why dont you look at getting a kit sent up from herrods or another performance place like d&t?

I've had quite a bit of work done at a shop that does custom exhaust systems at Salisbury. Rick is the owner, and he's named the shop probably the least flattering name I can imagine....

Cut Price Mufflers !!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm taking my AU 5.0 ute to him on Friday. I'm leaving the exhaust manifolds for now, just getting him to replace the mufflers and go for a larger single system. Personal preference, but I like the note of single systems better than dual. In any case, I'll let you know how it goes. If it breathes a bit better, and sounds a bit better - great ! I'm not expecting to made any substantial power gains - it's more for the sound. Of course, I'm justifying it by saying that I'll probably get better fuel economy from the better breathing system

He's on the corner of Granard and Beaudesert Roads. Easiest if you go outbound on Beaudesert road - he's the last shop before the intersection. Tell him you were talking to Craig with the Cobra. May or may not get you a discount, but it's worth a try !

I dropped in to see Rick today, and he's sold his share of the business. He's only doing radical custom work now, so he won't be available to help you with your system.

Sorry for the dodgy information. I hadn't spoken to Rick for a couple of months....

Ummmm.... I'm going to try a friend who owns a truck exhaust shop. He's supplied me with heaps of material for other projects, and has always done great deals for me. I'll let you know what I come up with.

Sounds weird to go to a truck shop, but his guys do excellent welding, and he sells the full range of exhaust products. See what happens!
