what do you guyd think??? is a 2 1/2 or 2 1/4 inch exhaust all the way threw?? which one is better for preformance??

well i have an xr6 and i would like to know which one will give the greater preformance. i will be running it all the way threw with extractors. some fitters have told me that 2 1/4 is better but i dont think it would be.

you will have a 2.5 in system now - even if it is standard, everyone that puts a system ao a falcon goes for a 2.5 in

I'd been meaning to ask the same question. 2 1/4 vs 2 1/2? Genie suggested there'd be bugger all difference in performance between the two and that the 2 1/4 would have a better note.

While I'm at it...

I'm looking at doing the exhaust and upgrading to a 2 1/2 or 2 1/4" system as I already have Pacemaker comp series headers and a hi flow cat on the thing. Problem is I don't want it too loud as the missus drives it a fair bit as well.

Anyone know of a combo that'd give a decent note without being excessively loud?

2 1/2 for sure, std 4.0L falcons have 2 1/4, and as said std xr's have 2 1/2. genies are an OK shop but go with the tried and tested 2 1/2...i cant say anymore

well also if ur gonna be doin anymore mods the 2 1/4 will be restricting it.

as for noise levels talk to a good exhaust shop, usually the bigger the muffler the less noise. I, for some reason remember dynomax selling a good muffler with low noise and high flow

well it would be correct, A 90 degree 2 inch press bend will flow approx 1 cfm of air a minute compared to a mandrel of the same type
