Forced exhaust up grade for AU forte

Hi all,

The forte has gone in for it's 80,000km service and the mufflers are all rusted out.

So I guess I might as well put a sports system on it and get a better note/more performance.

What's the current reccomendation for AU 6's or is this a loaded question?

Don't want to spend a fortune mild steel is fine and any reccomendations for places that do good work in Sydney would be great.

Bow, where in Sydney are you. If your out west try Bruno at Carline in Mt Druitt. Nice guy who did the system on my XR8.

I cant think of the number off hand but it is in the yellow pages.

Thanks,

I live around the Parramatta area so MTtDruitt is a fair hike and depedning on the cost etc it's possibly worth a call.

Somewhere closer would be better though

AU2,

he is a top bloke, and seems to know his stuff.

He did a dual system from the cats back, it joined just before the muffler and went into a single 2 1/2 inch system. Cost me $270 and I am more than happy with the results.

Steven,

Yeah I dont know. I gather that Carline is a franchise so each owner is different. Again I am just going off personal experince and found Bruno to be a top bloke that talks to the customer, he explains different options, and previous experince in results gained.

I have also used Penrith Muffler man for the full exhuast system on my Mustang. I found them to be pretty damn good, but they most of thier experince is on older cars. I had quiet a few nightmares on the supposed LHD extractors that I brought from a guy in Melbourne, they fixed the problems and again for the Mustang sounding very sweet and she pulled a fair bit better.

Good to hear they arent all like Taren Point then, the guys there couldnt work out what to do with my falcon after they fitted the extractors and realised the cat didnt match up.They also took from 9am till 5pm to do my car and as for my mates VS v8 Ute,he dropped it in at 9am Thursday and the car was ready 9am Saturday, they were looking for instructions with the extractors....HENCE my keenness to bag Carline at every opportunity (make that Taren Point only from now on)...

Steven,

mate thats cool with me. We all need to watch out for people who don't do the right thing.

He also explains the legal aspects of exhuast systems. There was a kid who wandered in with an old mid 80 Rover Quintet. The kid put one of the large chrome mufflers, simular to most Riced up beasties. The things sounded way to noisy and Bruno explained that if he got pulled over he was a gone. The kid said no worries and left.

How I wish I could get the swarm of bees sound coming from the back of the XR8. :)
