Decided to go for the Genie headers. I have a EF11 XR6 auto with 90 000km on the clock. Never trashed. I went for the headers and 2.5" hiflow exhaust with a resonator with the original cat. have a K&N in the airbox.

No improvement in power at all after all that. Pre dyno 168Hp ?kw
post 170Hp. The guy reckons there was a pinging and it might be out ot tune. I will go and get it tune tomorrow. I still thought that should be something, not zero, zilch, nothing. I am pissed.

Sound ok with a some droning on accelerating.

He also recommended SS inductions cost $300. Too expensive.

bugger. try disconnecting the battery with the ignition off, turn ignition on for 5 mins, turn ignition off then reconnect battery. this will clear the computers 'learned' air/fuel/spark mixes.

take the car for a drive, going from light throttle inputs at the start, until it warms up, then graduating to full throttle starts+kickdown in gear over about 15-20 mins, hopefully the car will learn that it is breathing better than it used to be able to, and hence, make more power.

also check plugs and leads, make sure there is no 'missing' or anything as that will not help.

where is the o2 sensor in the new extractors? it should be at or after the junction of all 6 pipes, not working off just 2 or 3, this will decrease its effectiveness

Im very surprised u didn't get any result from your new exhaust system.
I have an AUII XR6,
I never got the car dinoed at stock but my first mod was to put a genni 2.5" cat back exhaust on. With that i got it dynoed to 127kw at the wheels and felt a big difference.
well it was actually 126, but then we added a k&n air filter while it was on dyno, although it only picked up 1kw at top end, at some spots in mid range it picked up 4-5 kw at the wheels!

I also looked at ss air intakes as u did and also thought they were too expensive for what they are. I now have an XR8 scoop on it from the same model which is significantly bigger and only cost me 30 odd dollars!

My car now has extractors as i needed them when i put my mocky dev 5 kit in and now pumps out 165kw,

Thanks guys.

The O2 sensor is at the end of the header and that looks ok. I will disconnect the battery. Give it a good drive down the freeway to the Ford dealer for a tuneup tomorrow. Buy a tickford XR8 scoop at the same time and fit that myself.

Redyno it tomorrow.

The SS induction tube from the scoop to the airbox is much larger than the original. I will get the exact diameter from the guy tomorrow if anyone is interested.

Yes I have seen Matti's site. Thanks. That's maybe the problem with looking at fordforum is trying to do some of the stuff you guys are doing. It's like an addiction. You know lower the car/new air filter/headers/scoop and before you know it new cams/supercharge/turbocharge.


Maybe I wait for the new AV TurboXR6 for 240kw and brand new!!!!!

My XR6 is still Heritage green but I have taken the red stripe off as well. Will have to post my car on a website soon.
