I'm thinking of getting some headers, and maybe a full exhaust for my car. At the moment its got a mild 289 with stock manifolds and dual exhaust with no h/x pipe. I was wondering what kind of increase in power I'd be looking at with a set of
1)shorty headers
2)full length
3)full length + full mandrel bent exhaust (what size?)

Also, approximately what kind of milage difference (if any) would it make - I ask this as I saw a post regarding exhaust work on an EA(?) in some other thread. And if anyone knows of a good exhaust shop in Sydney that are careful and do good reasonably priced work could you please post them. Thanks.

A H or X pipe would be a good start. As for the type of extractors to use, it depends on what is done to the engine & what type of trnasmission you are using.

At the moment, most of the modifications have been done by the previous owner. They include
- MSD 6a box
- MSD pro billet dist
- Some kind of aftermarket coil
- 8 or 9mm wires
- Weiand 7515 intake (Im going to replace it with an edelbrock performer I think, as the weiand is single plane)
- Edelbrock 600 cfm carb (1406)
- K&N filter
- who knows what done to the internals, but I dont think anything major

- Standard c4 auto, with long term plans for a t5 manual
