i've just5 had an exhaust put on my car ( pace maker extractors 3" from collector pipes) ever since getting it the car has been chugging and just running crap in general and doesnt seem to be making the power expected any ideas on what it could be, I thought maybe the fuel filter is up the duff.it sounds great though

I guess you kept the stock cats? A really bodgy cut & weld job on the cats might leave half the gas flow being blocked off. Some proper flanged 2.5" cats would be better.

Just make sure the oxygen sensors are connected back up and working properly. Also spark plugs are easy to break when fitting headers if they weren't removed first, just check them to see if any are cracked etc. Other than that check to see if the exhaust guy's knocked off any pipes, wires etc.

i have reset computer(by disconnecting battery)ive been told there is another way to do it at the computer itself ,checked for leaks in pipe he did a damn nice job as for the cats dont have the 500 bucks at the moment. had a quick look over plugs and leads and they seem fine.

There's also the trick with the silicon sealant - can be used when fitting extractors, and some varieties will nuke your ego sensor...

My guess is also the oxygen sensors - it happened to my EF when extractors were fitted (6 cyl). One new sensor = car happy again. Easiest way to test if it's the O2 sensor(s) is to disconnect the wiring to them - if the car runs fine (it might not idle too well though) then the sensors are rooted. Repco replacements should be cheaper than ford parts.

i think i found the problem. the clutch. drove it today it started chugging so i put the boot in and it reved its guts out. it was on its way out and i think the little extra power pushed it over the edge. i may still check the sesors though because im still not sure if it is just the clutch that is stuffed. thanks for the help guys. i wish it was the sensors they would probly be cheaper than a $750 clutch
