any good? looking at buying one for the 4.0i ED and was wondering if theres any happy/unhappy owners on here..
the other question, is 2 1/2 a bit large for an otherwise stock 4litre? i've heard talk of it being excessive and 2 1/4 is all thats necessary..

I've got a Redback 2 1/2 on my 3.9 cfi EA, never looked back. Gives a nice deep note, but I think the pacemaker headers help it along aswell

falcons are 2 1/4 standard, so go the 2 1/2, There are lots of other bolt on systems as well eg. Berklee, Lukey etc etc

i purchased a 2 1/2 redback exhuast of ebay, with a hotdog on the end. Sounds very nice, not to loud but opens up in the higher revs. Waiting to add extractors and modify the air intake as apparently it gives out a nice sounding note once these mods are added.

i had a 2 1/2 REDBACK set up on my old EA cfi .. then got the same on my EF. you could say im a happy customer. cost me $350 fitted. headers make a slightly deeper note, other than that its all good!

Mate has Redback 2.5 on his EL fairmont. Sounds superb. The note changes as the exhaust "carbons up" but its just as good. One thing that we've noticed is that after about 3500 rpm, it seems to get quieter from both inside and outside the car. This was discussed in another part of the forum a few months back. The note still sounds good even tho the volume drops off. It was $330 fitted.

Could you actually tell the diffrence in note when it had "carboned up" , I know ppl in the industry and have spoken to them about this and they say its just something to tell the customer if they arnt completley happen with the note to save them the hassle of dealing with the customer

"yeah no problems mate - Shewil carbon up in a few weeks and it wil be fine"
