hey all
just about to put a new exhaust system on my EB2 6cyl.

Ive got a 2.5" mandrel bent front pipe with a straight thru muffler and will be gettin a normal pipe bent tail pipe. also i am not going to fit extractors.

Question is Should i get a resonator fitted or not? and what differences will it make

Hey dude how are ya. I got a resonator fitted on my exhaust, from my experience their good man. I have 2.5 inch mandrel bent sports exhaust (cat-back) and am getting extractors soon. From what i know, which isn't much :), the resonator gives deeper sound. Anyways good luck.

a Resy/Hotdog will give you an 3-5 db decrease in sound and create a deeper note

Do you do alot of freeway cruising

well not a heap but every week or 2 and i do a bit of long country driving aswell which is pretty similar.

I would just put one on if i was in your position - They arnt going to effect performance and will stop some droning

I mean my car has only got 2 race hotdogs and no mufflers and its a daily driver - Did a country trip a few weeks ago and it wasnt really that bad

When I got my car done I got Extractors high flow cat, 2.5 exuast with one strait thru race Mufler.
It was really droney, So I belive a hot dog would have been the best option, until I got my head ported and Crow Cam put in, that completly changed the sound of my car.
it sounds real lumpy and throaty now with no drone at all!

Remember there is more than one way to skin a cat, or make your car sound really good.
