Urgent Question: Black smoke out exhaust - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Well since ive had my headers ive notice the stainless tip on the exhaust to go black on the inside and tonight i gave it a fair bit and i noticed there was alot of smoke comin out in first gear. It only happens when the car is under load. I also noticed some liquid on the ground when i had a look under the car at home but that may have been cause i washed it today (was only under engine tho :|) Nothing when i had a quick look before seemed to be leaking and no drops so i have no idea what it is

so ya think maybe take it to dyno tune and have them tune it?

the prob i have is that there is a black liquid drip coming from the zorst even from just idling. the inside of the tip is also black as is about 5mm of the outside of the zorst. any ideas? (85 unleaded carby XF with headers and zorst) sorry to highjack a thread.

Davway: I wouldn't worry about it too much.. My car does it too (XF leaded carby), most older carby cars tend to do this.

Sounds like you all need to get your cars tuned on a dyno...

Its not going to hurt your car though, just waste fuel.
