Hey all, I dont know if you've had this problem before but whenever I start my EA falcon and I haven't used it in like a few hours or so the exhaust note sounds weird.
Like the sound of an izuzu truck or old landcruiser or something. You know that annoying blowing sound you hear?
Well my car is making that sound too but after a little while of driving it disappears.
Some fella I know reckons it was a leak in the manifold but I got extractors now and it still makes that annoying sound.
Maybe its leaking elsewhere. I mean I can only hear it when my car first starts up but if I revv it for awhile the sound disappears after a min or so. I'm guessing whatever is there just evaporates or whatever but what could be causing it??
Anybody have any ideas it would be greatly appreciated!
Do you mean it sounds like the exhaust is echo'ing in the manifold sound? my old ea had that, for some reason it sounded like it had a major exhaust leak yet didnt. Thought it had something todo with my head

you guys are all wrong, its in the CFi throttlebody, you can go changign exhausts fitting thermofans to your hearts content, but the sound really wont go away untill the car is multi point converted
Hey all, yeah I went and saw a mechanic today and he reckons its the fan or something too.
But he said I cant fix that sound! Man I dont believe him. There must be some way to eliminate that annoying blowing noise which muffles my exhaust note.
Um mine sounds the same, and i have no CFI or Clutch fan.
E series exausts are very prone to cracking at the front and rear of the Big muffler.
This sounds like a loud hiss.
I have tried for years to fix it, but it just stays there.
Clutch fan? Is there a clutch fan on an Auto as well?
How much are electric thermofans?
I've basically had this small problem since I got the car, no change even when I completely upgraded my exhaust system with extractors, high flow cat and 2.5 inch pipe.
I know its not a really important problem and the sound does go away after a few mins of driving but its still annoying.
Any extra info would be greatly appreciated.
