3 inch would be an over kill for a 6 banger! even with a super charger, most people recommend 2.5 at the largest for a six, if you were really keen you may get away with 2.75"

With a blown mill, the velocity thing is totaly different.Scavenging is not as critical... 3" is o/k on blown mill. From what I have read..o/k..

Sorry to dig this up...

Saw an XG? ute (the on that looks like an XF but is newer - longreach or something) and it rolled into work sounding very much like a V8. I asked the guy where he got the zorst and what it was and he said it was 3 inch with a lukey muffler.

I was under the impression a 3inch would cause more trouble than gain.

But he said it was fantastic, and the sound was truely V8 deep.

I want a V8 deep sound, none of this EA fart sound most peoples zorst on falcons end up sounding like!!

I don't want my six to sound like a six!! Help me!!

one of the guys at work has just fitted a 2.5" twin system(pipe on each side of car not together) to his ED 4.0. its on gas so the fuel tank has been removed.
bit of overkill!

3in would be too small for a blown 6, your talking about at least an equivalent of a 6L engine. Dual 2.5 or 3in would probably be best....
