After visiting some exhaust shops today and asking about a duel system, they either said it couldn't be done or it'll be very difficult because of the plastic fuel tank.
But i'm sure i've seen XD's with duel exhausts.
I have the cut outs on each side of the bumper also.
The other option is having the exhausts come out just behind the back wheels.
What do you guys know about this?

I've had the same problem. Is your rear section from a van or ute?, because I've never seen a sedan with cut-outs on both sides.

Max you can run is twin 2 1/4 inch all out on right hand side (because of the plastic tank), but this is a very tight fit. Twin 2inch is easy.

Other option is to run the pipes under the diff, but technically illegal and a hassle if you jack your car up.

I'm running twin 3inch now, ending at the diff. Also technically illegal, but is the best performing exhaust I ever had, though it drones a bit at idle.

I'm not sure if its from a van or ute. Just had the car 3 weeks.
The exhaust guys thought it was i bit unusual having the two cutouts also.

I've thought about ending it at the diff but like you said its "technically illegal".
So i'll probably go for twin 2 1/4 ending behind the back wheels.

Ive seen a XD with a Drop tank in the middle with dual Xorst looked good maybe you could change/move the tank or get a new tank made up and put in the middle.

the others that have it are usualy running gas with no fuel = no fuel tank. looks sweet

Check your South Oz rules on exhausts ending before the rear bumper - ie: dropping them out near that back wheels could be illegal too......just like mine! They're some crappy rules here in WA anyway.

I'm about to flick my plastic fantastic and hit my boot with an angle grinder - fitting a 20 gal aluminium fuel cell. HEAPS of room on each side then.

A dual 2 1/4" would be OK if done right.

I've had similar issues on an XB sedan. It's a damn tight fit to fit twin 2 1/2" pipes beside the tank. It used to hit every now and again when idling. I solved it by putting a fuel cell which is illegal in Vic. Heaps of room now but it came back to bite me on the arse, as I got canaried. Car's been off the road since April 2003. Now I am having difficulties getting someone to test it. Well actually everyone will test it but never pass it. Money hungry pricks. Most tended to get a fright due to the engine mods. hahaha Too used to stockers I reckon!

xdc351's idea looks good. wonder if it can be done as newer cars have clearances allowed for in the floor pan.

That exhaust is on a TE50!

Mine is a dual 2 1/2" that exits under the bumber on the left hand side of the car... I like showing off the fact its on straight LPG!

A Drop Tank is on the list of things to do, but until then..
