99 Contour Smog - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

All,

A friend of mine has a 99 contour. He can't pass smog because the
smog machine can't bring up the history or read any of the sensors. Is
this a computer problem? Any Ideas?

Sounds like the data link is down..
BUT:
Suggest he take it to a parts store that reads out codes for free and see
if they can read it.

If so, then he has a claim that it's not his problem to fix.
