Are there any published (internet) instructions for the alarm system
on 98 Windstar? I want to stop automatic disabling of ignition when
car is turned off. Any special equipment required?

This is an early 98 Mfg 7/97.

Windstars didn't come with an alarm unless you are talking about the PATS
system

If so, you cant turn it off.
If you want to install remote start ,why didn't you let us know
only way to by-pass pats is by taping a spare key, a uncut programmed key
will do, inside your steering column cover as close as possible to the "PATS
ring " around the ignition cylinder

If it has a aftermarket alarm ,try to find a manufacturers name and go to
there web site to find a manual
